On April 24, National Panchayati Raj Day, 20 panchayats in Korea district will launch Atal Digital Centers, marking a major step towards digital empowerment in rural India.

To mark National Panchayati Raj Day, the Korea district administration is set to inaugurate Atal Digital Panchayat Centers in 20 selected gram panchayats. These centers aim to digitally empower rural governance and provide essential e-services directly to citizens. As part of the launch, the first transaction under the Mahatari Vandan Yojana will be processed at these centers.
As per the directive of District Collector Chandan Tripathi, all Janpad Panchayats have been instructed to finalize arrangements, including clean drinking water, seating, and effective publicity. These centers will also feature video conferencing facilities, enabling real-time interaction between local representatives and villagers.
Dr. Ashutosh Chaturvedi, CEO of District Panchayat Korea, highlighted that this initiative will significantly enhance digital access and administrative transparency in rural areas.
To make the occasion more engaging, special Gram Sabhas will be organized in all villages. Furthermore, a live telecast of the national-level Panchayati Raj Day event—featuring a keynote address by Prime Minister Narendra Modi—will be broadcast in all participating panchayats. Arrangements are also in place to relay state-level events.
Dr. Chaturvedi emphasized the initiative’s role in reinforcing grassroots democracy. “Through the 73rd Constitutional Amendment, Panchayati Raj has become the backbone of rural governance, and April 24 is a celebration of that democratic spirit,” he said.
This step toward digital decentralization marks a pivotal moment in Chhattisgarh’s journey toward inclusive development and transparent rural administration.
