Four Vehicles Seized for Illegal Mineral Transport in Chhattisgarh
In a firm move against unauthorized mining activities, the Mineral Department of Chhattisgarh, under the direction of the District Collector, conducted surprise inspections and seized four heavy vehicles engaged in illegal sand transportation.
Mineral Officer Bhushan Kumar Patel and his team intercepted the following vehicles:

Vehicle No. CG 15 AC 5624, driven by Manoj Prajapati and owned by Muneshwar Yadav

Vehicle No. CG 15 EC 5118, driven by Ramroop and owned by Umashankar

Vehicle No. CG 15 EE 8600, driven by Shivpujan Ram and owned by Muneshwar Yadav
All vehicles were found transporting sand without valid permits and were immediately seized. The vehicles are currently held in custody at the local Patna police station.
Legal action is being taken under Rule 71 of the Chhattisgarh Minor Mineral Rules 2015 and Sections 21–23(b) of the Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) Act, 1957. Penalties will be deposited into the state’s mineral fund.
The district administration reiterated its commitment to curbing illegal mining, preserving natural resources, and enforcing environmental laws strictly. Citizens have been encouraged to report any such illegal activities to the authorities to help put a stop to environmental exploitation.
