Under the guidance of District Malaria Officer Dr. D.K. Ramteke, a special seminar and quiz competition were organized at the Government Narhardev Excellent Higher Secondary School (English Medium), Kanker, to mark World Malaria Day. The winners of the competition were felicitated, and students were educated about malaria prevention, symptoms, and treatment measures.

During the event, the District Malaria Advisor explained that malaria is a contagious disease transmitted through the bite of an infected female Anopheles mosquito. Immediate testing using RD (Rapid Diagnostic) kits and complete ACT (Artemisinin-based Combination Therapy) treatment are essential to eliminate malaria infection.

Students were informed that free malaria testing and treatment facilities are available through Mitanins (community health workers), sub-health centers, and all government hospitals.

Symptoms of Malaria:

  • In case of fever, immediately contact Mitanins or health workers for an RD kit test and take full ACT treatment without delay.

This initiative successfully spread awareness among students and the community, reinforcing the importance of proactive malaria prevention and early treatment.
