Collector Emphasizes Medical Staff’s Responsibility in Providing Quality Healthcare Services; Immediate Action on Mismanagement Ordered
Geedam, April 26 —
Collector Kunal Dudawat today conducted an inspection of the 50-seater Maternal and Child Hospital and Trauma Center located at Geedam headquarters. Beginning at the Trauma Center, the Collector reviewed the operations at the online registration counter, the distribution of patient slips, the storage of free medicines, and the progress of Ayushman Bharat Scheme registrations.
During the visit, the Collector directed medical staff to ensure the availability of clean drinking water and ORS packets at the hospital’s entrance, considering the ongoing severe heatwave. Expressing dissatisfaction with the cleanliness at the Trauma Center, he instructed that medical waste must be properly segregated and disposed of in separate containers.
Additionally, the Collector emphasized that bed sheets, pillows, and pillow covers must be changed regularly to maintain hygiene standards. While interacting with admitted patients, he also assessed the quality of the free meals being provided.
"The responsibility for delivering medical services and ensuring efficient hospital management lies primarily with the medical staff," the Collector said firmly, adding that any signs of mismanagement must be addressed immediately.
He also instructed the display of government scheme posters related to women’s and children’s welfare prominently within the hospital premises.
The Collector personally inspected the General Ward, Surgical Ward, and Labor Room, enquiring about the patients’ health and treatment experience.
CEO of the District Panchayat, Jayant Nahta, SDO Vivek Chandra, CMHO Dr. Ajay Ramteke, and other medical staff were present during the inspection.
