A speeding car crashed into a pole near Avanti Bai Chowk, Bhilai, killing a young man and woman on the spot. Police are investigating the early morning accident.
In a tragic early morning accident on Monday, a young man and woman lost their lives when their speeding car collided with a pole near Avanti Bai Chowk in Kohka, Bhilai. The incident occurred around 4 AM.
The victims have been identified as Alok Sahu (28), a resident of Nandini Road, Chhawni, and Pooja Prasad (27), a resident of Bhilai Nagar. Both were traveling in a car bearing registration number CG 07 MA 2307.
According to police reports, the car was moving at a high speed, causing the driver to lose control. The vehicle crashed directly into a pole with such force that the front end of the car was completely destroyed. Both occupants died on the spot due to the severity of the collision.
Eyewitnesses immediately alerted the emergency services by dialing 112. Personnel from Smriti Nagar police outpost and the 108 ambulance service reached the scene promptly. The victims were transported to Lal Bahadur Shastri Hospital in Supela, where doctors declared them dead on arrival.
The bodies have been shifted to the Supela mortuary, and their families have been informed. Relatives have already arrived at the hospital. Meanwhile, the police have launched a detailed investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash.
